Claims
When a claim arises, speed and expertise matter. Our dedicated claims professionals work closely with insureds, agents, and carriers to ensure every claim is handled with urgency, transparency, and an eye toward minimizing disruption. From initial reporting through final resolution, the Oryx claims team is a consistent, knowledgeable advocate helping navigate the process and achieve the best possible outcome.
Our adjusters have a passion for their job and are committed to constant communication with our carriers, agents and policy holders. The tenets of our claims department are built around three principles:
Time
Oryx claims adjusters maintain a maximum case load that is 20% less than the industry standard.
Tools
TPAs handle claims in a reactive manner. The Oryx claims department is proactive; minimizing claim costs by providing insured specific return-to-work programs, fraud detection, investigative services and litigation management.
Training
The claims department is fully staffed with construction specific adjusters. All claims adjusters have IRMI’s CRIS designation and are required to maintain a minimum of two professional designations. Additional staff certifications include Construction Safety & Health Specialist (R.I.T. OSHA Education Centers) and Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional designations (Michigan State University’s School of Labor & Industrial Relations).
Loss Control
Prevention is always preferable to recovery. Our loss control professionals work directly with insureds, both on-site and at their facilities to identify exposures, implement best practices, and build a culture of safety. Rather than simply auditing for compliance, we take a consultative approach, partnering with clients to develop practical strategies that reduce frequency and severity of losses over time.
